Suzuki GSX-R125...

You want your first bike to be something special...

What we say…

For the first time there is a brand new entry point into the GSX-R series for new riders, as Suzuki revealed the all-new GSX-R125.

The development of the GSX-R125 followed the same philosophy that has been applied to all GSX-Rs for the last three decades, with the smallest offering in the legendary range of sportsbikes boasting the best power-to weight ratio, best torque-to-weight ratio, and best acceleration in its class, thanks to its new, single cylinder 125cc engine.

A LED stacked headlight maintains the GSX-R family identity, and there’s also a full LCD dash, and a new keyless ignition – a first for Suzuki – with the easy-start system as used on the new flagship GSXR1000.

New GSX-R Engine

The power plant for the new GSX-R125 is a single cylinder, liquid cooled, DOHC (Double Over Head Cam) with 125cc. It powers the GSX-R to great performance on the track and on the street and a lot more besides. The engineers behind the GSX-R series have been perfecting engines for over 30 years, and this is their latest masterpiece. In the 125cc class the GSX-R125 has the best power to weight ratio, the best torque to weight ratio and the best acceleration.

Lightweight ABS

The Anti-lock Brake System (ABS) is the latest Bosch ABS 10 base unit, which is the lightest and most compact two-channel ABS system on the market. The pro-active system monitors wheel speed and immediately intervenes when imminent wheel lock is detected-before actual lock-up. The compact ABS system as installed on the GSX-R125 weighs just 0.59 kilograms.

Key-less Ignition System

The GSX-R125 features a convenient key-less ignition system, and the rider can start the engine as long as the compact key is close enough to the motorcycle. Which means the rider doesn’t have to fumble to retrieve the compact key from a pocket or backpack. A button on the remote control activates an answer-back function, causing the turn signals to flash and making it easier to find the GSX-R125 in a crowded car park.

Suzuki Easy Start System

he ECM on the GSX-R125 runs the one-touch Suzuki Easy Start system. The convenient Suzuki Easy Start System automatically starts the engine with one touch of the starter button mounted in the switch module on the right handlebar; there’s no need to hold the button down until the engine fires. Thanks to the new system, the rider doesn’t have to pull the clutch lever in to start the engine, as long as the transmission is in neutral.

LCD Instrument Cluster

The Suzuki GSX-R125 has a full LCD instrument panel set in a modern dashboard, framed by turn signal, neutral, hi-beam, coolant temperature, malfunction indicator lamp (MIL), ABS, and programmable engine-RPM indicator lights. The bright LCD panel includes a segmented-bar tachometer across the top; a digital speedometer; a gear position indicator; a digital clock; a digital odometer with dual trip meters; an average fuel consumption meter; a fuel gauge; and an oil change timing indicator.

LED Lighting

Reflecting its GSX-R heritage, the GSX-R125 features vertically stacked LED headlights, with the low beam above the high beam, and position lights on each side of the headlight. The GSX-R125’s LED headlights are bright and compact, lighter and longer lasting compared to conventional halogen-bulb headlights seen on competing machines. Because LED headlights use about 15% of the electrical power required by conventional bulbs, less engine power is needed to run the motorcycle’s alternator, improving acceleration and fuel economy.

What Suzuki says…

The Suzuki GSX-R series has defined sportbike performance for over 30 years, with more than a million sold worldwide.

So the dedicated Suzuki engineers who have devoted their lives to the GSX-R take their responsibilities very seriously: Every GSX-R must be very light and the best performing in its class, in an unbeatable package.

Meet the revolutionary Suzuki GSX-R125, with the best power to weight ratio, torque to weight ratio and acceleration, plus nimble handling and great fuel economy in the 125cc class. It’s versatile too, designed to handle city traffic jams while commuting to school or work during the week. And as an exciting sports bike it’s ready for fun rides into the countryside on weekend.

The combination of lightweight chassis and smooth power delivery mean this GSX-R is read for the racetrack as well.
