MOTION TRACK TRACTION CONTROL
This technology is adopted directly from the traction control system Suzuki developed for the GSX-RR in MotoGP racing.
This takes traction control to a new level by employing data from the IMU to constantly monitor the amount of lean angle and effectively limit slip in corners as well as on straights.
It always provides greater stability, enabling confident control in varying riding conditions while reducing stress and fatigue.
The system offers a choice of 10 mode settings, and it can be turned off when preferred. The higher number the mode, the faster traction control is engaged and the more proactive the system is in limiting wheel spin.
SUZUKI INTELLIGENT RIDE SYSTEM (SIRS)
Hayabusa adopts an advanced new version of the Suzuki Intelligent Ride System (SIRS) and a six axis Inertial Measurement Unit (IMU).
A complete collection of electronic systems designed to optimise performance characteristics to match the needs of the moment and make the Hayabusa more controllable, predictable, and enjoyable.
Riders can opt for settings that best suit riding conditions, road surfaces and their level of confidence and experience.
ENGINE BRAKE CONTROL
With three modes and an OFF setting, this system provides control over the effective strength of engine braking to match the rider’s preference.
The higher the setting, the more the system provides the rider with smoother, more controllable behaviour by cancelling out the effect of engine braking to suppress rear tyre sliding or skipping when decelerating after releasing the throttle grip or downshifting.

SUPERIOR 1,340CC ENGINE
The Hayabusa engine is already renowned and the latest enhancements take it to another level. New pistons and connecting rods reduce the weight of moving parts within the engine, while reduced valve lift and overlap improve performance and controllability in the low to mid-range. Twin Swirl Combustion Chamber (TSCC) design fully leverage advances in analysis to bring in more air as the valves begin to lift and thereby increase combustion efficiency too. Suzuki Side Feed Injectors (S-SFI) feature a new dual injector design that positions the secondary injector so its spray strikes a reflecting plate in the funnel and enters the combustion chamber as a fine mist. This combines with the increased capacity of a new air box and longer intake pipe design to optimise low to mid-range power output.

LEAN AND LIGHT EXHAUST
A link pipe connects cylinders 2 and 3, while the addition of a link pipe connecting cylinders one and four helps deliver more power and torque at low to mid-range speeds. Changes to the cam profiles, application of the latest analytical tools, and effective use of the area behind the catalytic converter in the exhaust pipes made it possible to reduce the capacity of the mufflers by 1.98 litres while still clearing the Euro 5 emissions standards. In addition, the change to single pipes at the back end and the adoption of a simpler muffler structure takes 2.054kg off the weight of the exhaust system. The mufflers adopt a twin-compartment design inside that simplifies the internal structure, reducing the weight of the mufflers and allowing for greater freedom to create a more attractive exterior design.

SUZUKI RAM AIR DIRECT (SRAD)
Flow analysis applied to the SRAD intake ducts reduces pressure loss and increases the flow of pressurised air into the air box. This results in a finer balance between the design of the shape for the ducts and its contribution to output and engine characteristics. This design contributes to outstanding aerodynamic performance and produces a strong intake sound. Changes to the shape of the throttle bodies made it possible to increase the air box’s capacity to 11.5 litres and the top structure uses aa corrugated shape that increases the box’s structural rigidity. The resulting design improves intake sound quality, while also allowing for the elimination of the internal support posts.

BREMBO STYLEMA® BRAKES
The Hayabusa uses Brembo’s latest Stylema® front brake calipers. Featuring a lighter, more compact and carefully sculpted design intended for use on high-performance motorcycles, these calipers increase airflow around the brake pads to cool more quickly and deliver immediate response. These are paired with front discs with a diameter of 320mm and featuring a hole pattern that helps optimise cooling efficiency.

POISED FOR ACTION
KYB inverted cartridge forks provide 120mm of front wheel travel and feature Diamond-Like Carbon (DLC) coating on the 43mm inner fork tubes to reduce friction and improve reaction to small irregularities in the road surface. Spring preload, compression damping and rebound damping are all fully adjustable. The internal structure has been upgraded to better absorb the road surface and ensure an even smoother, more stable ride with optimum grip. The internal structure of the fully adjustable KYB link-type rear suspension is also revised to maximise comfort and straight-line stability.

OPTIMUM CONTROL AND COMFORT
Mounting the handlebars 12mm closer to the rider vastly improves comfort and reduces fatigue, particularly when touring or taking long rides. It also enhances handling when enjoying a sporty ride by giving the rider better feedback on how well the front tyre is gripping the road, by better supporting the rider’s posture to improve stability when braking, and by offering the rider greater freedom in movement to control cornering.

BESPOKE BRIDGESTONE TYRES
Suzuki worked closely with Bridgestone to develop the new BATTLAX HYPERSPORT S22 tyres to meet the needs of the new Hayabusa. The tyres boast improved dry grip, better performance in wet conditions, greater all-round traction and agility, while retaining a great level of durability. Featuring a new compound and construction, the marked difference these tyres demonstrate in straight-line stability and cornering grip offers every rider a more exciting and confidence-building experience. The tyres are mounted on new 7-spoke wheels that not only look great, but also help improve grip feel too.

SUZUKI DRIVE MODE SELECTOR ALPHA (SDMS-A)
Suzuki Drive Mode Selector Alpha (SDMS-α) groups together five advanced electronic control systems while enabling riders to select individual settings for each. It optimises performance characteristics and behaviour to best suit varying road surfaces, riding conditions and preferred riding styles. Experiment with the different settings and benefit from the feedback each offers to hone your riding skills and build greater confidence while enjoying the ultimate riding experience. In addition to three factory pre-sets (A: Active, B: Basic, and C: Comfort), SDMS-α offers a choice between three user-defined groups of settings (U1, U2, U3). Modes and settings can be changed using switches on the left handlebar and the current settings are displayed on the colour TFT panel.

CRUISE CONTROL
Cruise control reduces fatigue on long rides by allowing the rider to maintain a set speed without operating the throttle. The setting appears on the colour TFT display and the speed can be easily adjusted upward or downward using the select switch (plus or minus) on the left handlebar. Cruise control can be set from 19mph to 124mph while riding at 2,000 to 7,000 rpm in second gear or higher. The handy resume function re-engages the system and accelerates to the most recent speed setting after cancelling.

ANTI-LIFT CONTROL
Adds reassurance to riders by helping prevent the front wheel from lifting off the ground when accelerating. The rider can choose from 10 modes, or turn the system off. The higher the setting, the greater the amount of control supplied. When in mode 10, for example, it is virtually impossible to lift the front wheel, even with a passenger on the back and the throttle wide open.

HILL HOLD SYSTEM
Hill Hold Control is designed to automatically engage the rear brake for 30 seconds after coming to a stop while facing uphill on an incline, even when you release the brake lever or pedal.
This helps ensure a smother restart free of worries that the bike will roll backward. The system is disengaged either by quickly squeezing the front brake lever twice, or by accelerating to pull away from a standing start.

LAUNCH CONTROL SYSTEM
Turn the throttle and experience a thrilling launch and acceleration like a racer leaving the starting line. A selection of three mode settings let you match the engine speed at launch to your level of experience or confidence. Mode 1 limits engine speed on launch to 4,000 rpm, Mode 2 operates at 6,000 rpm, and Mode 3 is the fastest mode and operates at 8,000 rpm.

ULTIMATE AERODYNAMICS
Aerodynamic performance is critically important on a motorcycle capable of reaching a top speed of 186mph. Extensive wind tunnel testing, full use of the latest Computer Aided Engineering (CAE) tools and years of experience all contribute to achieving refined styling with which the rider and bike become one wind-cutting missile. The Hayabusa features one of the best drag coefficients found on any street legal motorcycle, while also achieving excellent Coefficient of Aerodynamic Drag (CdA) and lift values to maximise top speed potential and stability at top speed. INTEGRATED LED LIGHTING TECHNOLOGY
The Hayabusa’s vertically stacked low beam and high beam headlights are a full LED design. The distinctive signature of their lighting pattern provides clear illumination at night and makes the Hayabusa highly visible too. This area also includes fine details like the Japanese character for Hayabusa, these luxury touches can be found throughout the new Hayabusa’s design. LED position lights with integrated indicators, neatly flank the outer edges of the large SRAD air intakes, for a compact, sleek and modern look. At the rear, a bold LED taillight and rear indicator design creates a single wide, sharp accent running horizontally across the bottom of the tail section.
