The YZF-R1M is Yamaha's most advanced production bike, and its sophisticated technology enables every racer and track rider to discover their true potential.

Its Inertial Measurement Unit (IMU) offers precise control over traction, slides, front wheel lift, braking and launches, while the Communication Control Unit lets you analyse running data on tablet or smartphone. The refined Electronic Racing Suspension (ERS) with improved damping control delivers ultimate handling.

With its 200 hp crossplane engine, upgraded QSS with upshift and downshift – as well as a new ECU and restyled carbon bodywork – the YZF-R1M brings YZR-M1 MotoGP Factory-bike technology to private owners.

Electronic Racing Suspension (ERS)

The Electronic Racing Suspension (ERS) takes data from the 6-axis IMU, enabling its Suspension Control Unit (SCU) to make adjustments to the fork and shock settings. By adapting to conditions, the ERS enhances stability during braking by reducing fork diving - as well as giving improved control and increased traction when exiting corners.


Communication Control Unit (CCU)

The Communication Control Unit (CCU) has a data logging function that allows riders to record a wide range of running data, including lap times, speed, throttle position, GPS tracking, lean angle and more. It can also be used to communicate with the Yamaha Ride Control (YRC) system when viewing, downloading or changing the running modes.


YZR-M1-derived carbon bodywork

With its central forced air intake and high screen, the R1M's lightweight carbon bodywork has an unmistakable M1 race bike silhouette. Compact LED headlights on either side of the air intake emphasise the race DNA, while twin LED position lights give this superbike a truly unique face.


M1-derived 200PS crossplane engine

The R1M is powered by a 998cc crossplane 4 cylinder 4-valve engine that develops 200PS - without ram air pressurization. Derived from our winning YZRM1 MotoGP bike, its crossplane crankshaft gives an uneven 270° - 180° - 90° - 180° firing sequence for high levels of linear torque.


6-axis Inertial Measurement Unit (IMU)

A highly sophisticated 6-axis Inertial Measurement Unit (IMU) delivers precise data on every aspect of running machine attitude to the ECU - which activates the R1M's electronic control technology, including its MotoGP derived banking angle sensitive rear wheel Slide Control System (SCS) and Traction Control System (TCS).


3-dimensional control

Equipped with a banking angle sensitive rear wheel Slide Control System (SCS) and Traction Control System (TCS) - as well as a Front LIFt control system (LIF) in addition to a Launch Control System (LCS) and Quick Shift System (QSS), the R1M's electronic control technology enables every rider to attain their full potential on the track.

What Yamaha says…

With its 200 hp crossplane engine, compact aluminium/magnesium chassis and lightweight carbon body, the YZF-R1M fuses YZR-M1 MotoGP technology with R-series DNA.

For reduced lap times there's an upgraded Quickshift System (QSS) giving seamless upshifting and downshifting. The revised Electronic Racing Suspension (ERS) automatically adjusts damping to give higher levels of braking, acceleration and cornering control – and a new interface makes selecting modes easier.

The new ECU works with the QSS and improved lift control system (LIF) to allow harder acceleration – and the fairing's restyled graphics focus on its lightweight carbon structure.
