First, breath – it’s OK you’re at the right place – we are used to dealing with Claims and Recalls and we are here to help you navigate your way through.

Insurance Claims.
If you find yourself in the unfortunate position of having to claim on your insurance, we’re here to help.
Quite often in the event of an accident or theft, your insurance company will instruct you to get an independent ‘Estimate’ for the repair of your motorcycle or scooter. This is to enable them to decide whether it is financially viable to repair your vehicle or write it off.
Our team of Qualified Technicians and Parts Advisors are trained to identify all the areas of concern, to collate and publish a full written estimate for your insurance company.
Don’t assume that if your insurance company tells you where to get an estimate that that’s where you must go.
You can in many cases tell them that you wish for Streetbike to carry out this assessment. If they don’t arrange to have your bike transported to us, we can arrange for our Recovery Team to bring it in.
Just call 0121 296 56670 and we’ll do our best to help.
WARRANTY CLAIMS
All new bikes bought from us are covered either by a 12-month unlimited mileage warranty for bikes up to 51cc or a 24-month unlimited mileage warranty for bikes over this. The warranty stays with the bike not the owner so if you buy a used 1-year old 600cc bike then you’ll still have 1 years warranty left.
Not that you’ll need it, as we prep all our used bikes within an inch of their lives. BUT every used bike we sell comes with a free 3-month unlimited mileage warranty too.
So, what exactly is your warranty for.
If a defect develops which is attributed to the original manufacturing process, remedial work will be carried out free of charge.
For the warranty to be valid, your bike must be serviced as recommended by the manufacturer at the intervals specified in your Owner’s Manual. We always make sure you can prove this as we stamp and sign your Owner’s Manual every time you have a service with us.
What’s NOT covered.
Tyres, spark plugs, filters, cables, brake pads, batteries, chains, clutch plates, and any other part which requires routine replacement, or functions which require routine service or maintenance adjustment.
Cost of recovery, transportation of the bike to or from us or consequential losses which have not been approved by the manufacturer.
Failures due to Neglect, Misuse or Competition (that’s racing to you and me). Alterations and/or modifications which have not been approved by the manufacturer in writing.
Why does it take so long?
First, we have to take pictures of the faulty part and e-mail them to the manufacturer for them to give us the authority to do the work. Once we have that we can then order the parts. Once the parts are here, we do the easy bit by booking the job into the workshop, doing the job and finish processing the claim paperwork.

RECALLS
Recalls are handled by VOSA (Vehicle & Operator Services) – here’s what they say about recalls…
“Recalls to address safety defects in motorbikes are launched and monitored under the terms of Codes of Practice formulated from discussions between the Department for Transport and the Trade Associations representing the Motor Manufacturing industry.
These Codes set out the guidelines and procedures for the recall of vehicles and components that have safety related defects due to a feature of design or construction, and which are liable to cause significant risk of injury to the driver, occupants of the vehicle or other road users.
It is the responsibility of the manufacturer to inform VOSA when substantial evidence of a safety defect that requires remedial action has been confirmed. Additionally, evidence may be presented to the manufacturer by VOSA as a result of investigations into collisions and safety defects which have been brought to their attention from other sources.”
Don’t worry – we’ll already know all about any Suzuki and Triumph recalls and be ready to get you sorted quickly.
If you get a recall letter – just give us a call on 0121 296 5670 and we’ll get you booked in as soon as we can.
If you buy a used Suzuki or Triumph bike from us that’s less than 10 years old, we’ll always change the warranty over to your name.
Whilst the bikes warranty may have run out, doing this means that we know that if there is a recall you will get that all-important manufacturers letter.
If you bought your bike from elsewhere and want to check that there are no outstanding recalls on your bike click here to go to the VOSA site.
